If something were to happen to you tomorrow, would your loved ones know:

  • That you have disability or life insurance?
  • That you have paid into mortgage insurance?
  • That you already have a cemetery plot and prepared funeral arrangements?
  • Of your multiple bank accounts and safety deposit boxes?

You need to prepare for the unexpected. Whether you are a grandparent, parent, spouse, sibling, an only child, or have loved ones in your life, this registry will benefit you.

People work hard to build their portfolio throughout their lives. We invest a lot of time and money into a variety of assets in order to build our legacy. These assets, both tangible and intangible, could include homes, vehicles, TFSAs, GICs, RRSPs, stocks, insurances, and more. We hope that someday, all that we have built will eventually be passed on to our loved ones. The unfortunate truth is that, more often than not, our assets are not always passed on the way we intend. Our Blog features some true stories where people have lost thousands of dollars because they were unaware of certain conditions, such as:

  • Paid policies ready to be claimed (e.g., mortgage insurance)
  • Prepaid services such as funeral arrangements, burial, etc.
  • Prepaid products like caskets, cemetery plots, and more
  • Monthly payout disability insurance for your health care
  • Location and/or existence of accounts and security/safety deposit boxes

    Tom, Business Owner E-texon
  • "When I heard of this site, I was very happy. I am getting of age and realized that I have many different insurance policies that I have been paying for. This is great because now I know my children can go to The RIP Registry and print out a report, continue to make the few remaining payments without defaulting and make the necessary arrangements contact the insurance corporations to see what needs to happen moving forward."

    Andy, Ramp Handler
  • "Wow! I just found out about this site. I needed this when my dad passed away. I was the executor and this would have made my life easier during those emotional hectic days."

    Harold, Investor
  • I take care of everything, my wife has no idea of the many different products like savings and insurance policies we have. We have two boys and worry that should something happen to me my wife wouldn't know where to start. I am now a member of The RIP Registry and I don’t worry anymore. As things change, I am able to make updates anytime I want. Cool!"

    Rob, Printer
  • "I have many people walking into my office asking for help. They don’t know where to go or what to do. This site is long overdue and much needed. Amazing"

  • "Can’t believe someone didn’t think of this long ago. There is definitely a need."

    Chandra, Finances
  • "Working at a bank I have people coming in with a key they just found, believing it belongs to a safety deposit box. Unfortunately many times I have to tell them it isn’t our key. This site solves one of the problems people are facing and challenges the banks have with storing all these unclaimed safety deposits."

FAQ

A Will is prepared once or twice in your lifetime, however as you go on with your life, things change and updating your Will may be costly.

The RIP Registry provides you the flexibility to update your list of investments, insurances, and banking information (e.g., TFSAs, saving accounts, GICs, etc.), anytime you wish at no extra cost.

The Registry form does not replace your Will, but rather compliments it by informing your loved ones with an updated status of your investments that were not added to your Will at the time it was prepared. The form ensures that your legacy will be passed on to the people you care about by providing contact names, telephone numbers, addresses and brief descriptions of your products without providing full confidential information.

A computer can have viruses and crash, papers get lost, stolen, misplaced and sometimes damaged, due to fires and other acts of god not under our control.
Your family member or confidant may not be aware of all relevant details which may result in a lot of time and effort spent on their part, trying to sort through your affairs and documents. There is also the possibility that they may forget some of the important details you tell them after some time. The RIP Registry can provide some peace of mind to you and your loved ones by having available a current, up-to-date, and easily accessible checklist that would keep them well informed of your prepaid products and services.

Absolutely. The RIP Registry is a GoTo reporting system. You will NOT be asked to provide or divulge your full private bank account information, investments, etc. This is to safeguard and protect you.

It is also important to note that insurance companies, financial institutions and any of the listed contacts on the report must validate each individual prior to releasing any information.

Your printed report will have a checklist covering paid products and services such as RRSP, pensions, spousal insurance, term Insurances, Bank locations, and Safety Deposit box, and more.

It contains fields where you can indicate contact names, telephone numbers, addresses and brief descriptions of your products without providing full confidential information.

If you do not have access to the member’s account, you will need to contact management at management@theripregistry.com via email.  Management will validate you, confirming your identity. Once validated, you will be asked to pay a small fee which will provide you with an access code that would allow you to print the report anywhere.  We do not keep your access code.  Please ensure you remember and safe guard your access code as it would be the only way to access the portfolio.  This access code never expires. To use this access code, select the tab “Print Report” from the login page and enter the 16 digit code.

If you try to login and there is an error message that pops up stating that your account is inactive you will need to reactivate your account by contacting management@theripregistry.com.  Currently there are no fees to reactive your account.
